In Memoriam

by | Mar 31, 2021 | Pontifications (Blog)

The life of our family was forever changed on May 26, 2020. Expecting the birth of our 6th child mere hours after a marathon of early morning intrauterine hiccups, we arrived at the hospital only to find that our sweet Margaret Clare’s heart had failed her. Her almond eyes, her wrinkled hands, and feet, her low-set ears, the features of her condition were unmistakable. Even before we could hold her in our arms, unforeseen Down Syndrome had taken her from us. We love you, our little Maggie, and we long to see you again in God’s glory.

Thy Geekdom Come is proud to support, with 10% of all take-home profits, the (Servant of God) Jerome Lejeune Foundation. Dr. Lejeune, the pioneering physician responsible for the discovery of Down Syndrome’s genetic cause, came to regret the eventual abuse of his work in making abortion of the disabled so common that today the vast majority of Down Syndrome children are aborted. We stand with the Lejeune Foundation in promoting Dr. Lejeune’s pro-life witness.

Micah Murphy

Micah Murphy

Cartoonist, humorist, general pain in the ist

Born from the mind of a neurotically serious Catholic heaven-bent on choosing to laugh at his own folly, Thy Geekdom Come is the endeavor of Micah Murphy, academia nut by day, mediocre cartoonist by night, but ever the geek-of-all-trades. His hope is to infuse into Catholic discourse a gravely needed levity. Micah lives in the Diocese of Shreveport, LA, with his wife and their flock of children. When seriousness is called for, he also has a B.A. in Theology & Catechetics (and a Latin minor) and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, but try not to hold it against him.
